This activity studies those sentences where the radical changes in meaning that the use of the verbs "ser" and "estar" entail are easy to see. Pairs of identical sentences are shown where the only difference between them is in the verb. They are illustrated with images that facilitate the comprehension of the differences in meaning in these two verbs.
En esta actividad se trabaja con aquellas oraciones en las que se ve claramente el cambio radical de significado que el uso de los verbos "ser" o "estar" conlleva. Se muestran parejas de oraciones que son exactamente iguales y lo único que varía es el verbo. Se acompañan de imágenes para ayudar a la clara compresión del significado.

Put the verb in place.

On screen appears a comic strip representing a communication situation. Underneath is a short text (four o five sentences) with blank spaces that have to be filled in by the student. To this purpose at the bottom of the screen are several verb forms; these are forms of the verbs "ser" and "estar". The student chooses among these forms those that are adequate to complete the given text.
En la pantalla se presenta una tira de dibujos representando una situación. A su pie se inscribe un breve texto narrativo (cuatro o cinco oraciones) con espacios en blanco que hay que rellenar. A este propósito aparecen, en la parte inferior de la pantalla, una serie de formas verbales; son formas de los verbos "ser" y "estar". El estudiante deberá elegir de entre estas formas las que sean adecuadas, y colocarlas en los espacios vacíos del texto hasta lograr su reconstrucción completa.

A comic strip is presented, with the peculiarity that the bubbles -where the character´s speech should appear- are in English. At the bottom of the screen a series of bubbles are proposed. The difference between them is only in the verbs that are used: "ser" or "estar". The student has to choose the adequate bubbles and place them in the mouth of the characters in the comic strip.
Se presenta una tira de dibujos, con la peculiaridad de que los bocadillos -donde deberían estar enmarcados los discursos de los personajes- no aparecen. En la parte inferior de la pantalla se proponen diferentes bocadillos. La diferencia entre los bocadillos propuestos estriba únicamente en los verbos utilizados: "ser" o "estar". Se elegirán los bocadillos que sean adecuados y, gracias al ratón, se colocarán en boca de los personajes en la tira de dibujos.
